Pure Whimsy- Cottage Style Spring Décor

Pure Whimsy- Cottage Style Spring Décor

I have to be honest with you- I’ve been feeling a little uninspired lately. It happens sometimes- I get into a DIY funk…my creativity fizzles out…and I feel a little lost. Invariably, I head into my garage or Craft Room to do some tidying up and rearranging when this happens. Why? Because I usually unearth something long forgotten and it’s the shot in the arm that I need to get back in the proverbial (crafting) saddle!Read more ›

My Upcycled Herb Garden, Part 2: Shower Caddy

My Upcycled Herb Garden, Part 2: Shower Caddy

Last month, I introduced my three-part upcycled herb garden series with Part 1- by sowing herb seeds in rusty, thrifted muffin tins / pans as starter pots! But several weeks have since passed and it’s time to bring you Part 2, which involves another repurposed thrift store find…Read more ›

Oval Frame “Easter Eggs”

Oval Frame “Easter Eggs”

I can’t quite explain why I love vintage oval picture frames so much…but I just DO! And when I see them in thrift shops, I snap them up, no questions asked. While brainstorming for new project ideas (by tidying up my Craft Room), I realized something:

Oval picture frames look a little like Easter eggs…Read more ›

Spring Doily Table Runner

Spring Doily Table Runner

Creating a table runner made from pieced together crocheted and lace doilies has been on my to-do list for as long as I can remember. I always assumed I’d create one in whites and neutrals, as most doilies come in varying shades of cream.

And then I started buying the occasional colorful doily- pinks, blues, yellows, greens… I actually bought them simply because they were pretty! I never intended on using them for a runner.

But as the cold, rainy days of winter dragged on, I craved some color and anything that says “Spring”…so the concept of a colorful, mismatched doily table runner was born! This post contains affiliate links for your crafting convenience.Read more ›

Window Shopping: Vintage Seed Packet Display

Window Shopping: Vintage Seed Packet Display

For nearly a year now, I’ve had an antique window sash sitting in my garage, waiting for his project-day to arrive. I bought it during a road trip to Forest City, North Carolina because it was the perfect size (24” X 19.5”), definitely vintage (sash cords still attached- so maybe from the ‘30s or ‘40s?), and was perfectly chippy.Read more ›

Vintage Greeting Card Flower Faux-quet

Vintage Greeting Card Flower Faux-quet

I will be perfectly honest with you- sometimes I start a project, or think of a project, and wonder if it’ll end up being too silly to post, or just ridiculously hokey to the point that no one else would want to recreate it.

That happened initially with this project- half way through, I had serious doubts.

But I’m so, SO glad I kept the faith and finished it, because I seriously love it- fantastically easy and the end result is so cheery, that you can’t help but smile instinctively when you see it. This post contains affiliate links for your crafting convenience.Read more ›
