Celebrating Spring with All Things Green (The DIY Housewives)

If it’s the first Wednesday of the month, then that can only mean one thing- it’s time for a new collection of project ideas from The DIY Housewives! This means that a group of my blogging friends (The DIY Housewives) will be sharing an older project as part of a themed collection. Sometimes, the theme will be seasonal…or based on a project material…or possibly a room in your home. No matter what, each collection will be a wonderful way to find timely inspiration in one compact posting- plus, you’ll get to know new bloggers and some of their favorite older projects. And with our calendars reading March, it’s a good time to focus on…

All Things Green

Believe it or not, but green is my favorite color! And it’s a funny story of how that came to be…I was in elementary school when I first realized that all the other little girls loved pink or purple. So, of course, I had to pick a different color…I was always that kid that wanted to be just a little different. Around the same time, I remember a group of kids handing out candy one day…something like Lifesavers…and they threw all the green ones out…because “No one likes green!”. And that’s when I decided I loved green…my overly empathetic heart felt sorry for the lime-flavored candies, and, well…I’ve been a green lover ever since.

I’ve completed a lot of green projects, so selecting one to showcase this month was a bit of a struggle! But I decided to cast a spotlight on my DIY fresh herb drying rack made from a repurposed picture frame!

It’s a fun and easy project to make, especially as the hot months drag on and your herb garden overflows with wonderful leaves and stems! And surprise, surprise…I even painted the old picture frame green!

Now, let’s see all the different Spring/Green projects that The DIY Housewives have done- just click on the thumbnail to head to their tutorial!

Yay, green is my favorite color too, it always reminds me of Mother Nature. But you can have the green LifeSavers though 😀 Love these projects, they’re all so alive with the promise of Spring. Our leaves are all changing to get ready for Autumn down here in S Africa, but it’s still crazy hot. Hope you have a happy week
