It’s time for a new collection of project ideas from The DIY Housewives! This means that a group of my blogging friends (The DIY Housewives) will be sharing an older project as part of a themed collection. Sometimes, the theme will be seasonal…or based on a project material…or possibly a room in your home. No matter what, each collection will be a wonderful way to find timely inspiration in one compact posting- plus, you’ll get to know new bloggers and some of their favorite older projects. And with our calendars reading April, it’s the perfect time to head outside for some…
Flower Gardening Ideas
I’ve mentioned it before but it’s worth mentioning again- I’m one of those people that loves the idea of gardening more than actual gardening. And so, I haven’t done too many actual planting projects over the years- garden organization? Yes. Garden decor? Yes. But actual planting / tending projects? Not so much.
BUT- I do have one project from “The Sadie Archives” that I love to do each year and surprise, surprise- it involves actual potting soil and actual plants!
Year after year, I replant my salvaged spigot (which you can’t see, thanks to my hyperactive portulacas) and vintage bucket planter because I love it so much. And I always go with portulaca (or moss roses) because for whatever reason, they do WONDERFULLY in this planter.
Now, let’s see all the different Flower Gardening project ideas that The DIY Housewives have done- just click on the photos to head to their tutorials!
So, are you inspired to head outdoors and plant something cheerful and fun like these DIY Flower Gardening Ideas?? So many fun ideas, and a diverse DIY collection at that.
Craft on!

Awwww Sarah the portulacas look so happy in your spigot. They always make me think of Summer and hot days. Looks like they found the perfect spot to add a little sunshine to someone’s day.
Thank you!!
How Can I buy an idea? I broke my Arm and neck and can not do them myself. Can I buy the Chandlier idea please?
Hi, Sherri- I’m not sure I understand what you mean? I don’t sell “ideas”, per se- these are my copyrighted project ideas and I don’t provide content for other bloggers. But, are you asking to purchase a finished project?
