Few things in life are certain, but this one is: step into any thrift store in any town, and you will find a plethora of picture frames. Why so many end up donated to thrifts, I’ll never know. But the good news is that there are tons of ideas for upcycled picture frames out there.
Not only can picture frames be given a basic (or even complex) makeover to be used to house photos and art in your home, but they can be transformed drastically into something else entirely.
Personally, I am drawn towards vintage picture frames or antique frames to use as home decor. Even as interesting backdrops in vignettes around the house!
But all photo frames have upcycling potential, from round frames, to multi photo frames, and cute picture frames.
I’ve certainly made my fair share of repurposed projects from cheap frames. For example, I made this framed cork board from thrift store pieces.
And this neutral Fall wreath that started out as a picture frame!
To get your creative juices flowing, I’ve gathered together some of my favorite ideas for upcycled picture frames.
No matter which kind you find while thrifting (wooden picture frames, gold picture frames, family picture frames, etc.), there’s bound to be an idea in here for you.
