Like a bull in a china shop…

Especially when “the world” is the china shop and “ 2016 ” is the bull! It’s been a rough-and-tumble year for many folks across the globe and I suspect that there are more than a few of us that are happy to bid farewell to such a pummeling year.

But there were a few bright spots (for me)- like the Chicago Cubs winning the 2016 World Series- and yet another tremendously satisfying year of blogging. Irish Countryside in a Vintage Mason Jar for St. Patrick’s Day

Back in July 2001, I celebrated my quarter-life achievement by taking myself to Ireland. I saved my pennies, researched and planned, and enjoyed a wondrous week abroad, visiting Dublin, Galway, and the Ring of Kerry. One of my very favorite moments, though, was driving through the Burren- a rolling landscape of classic Irish countryside. The patches of green are seemingly stitched in place by lines of dry stone wall- for a girl from the Chicago suburbs, this was exotic in its pastoral simplicity.Read more ›
