My friend, Teri, had given her mother’s dresser a makeover for her daughter’s new apartment. When she asked if I wanted the old hardware, I eagerly took them off her hands. Driftwood Wreath for Coastal Beach Decor on the Front Door

Up until 2009, I’d always lived near a shoreline- half my life along the shores of Lake Michigan, and half my life bouncing between the Gulf and the Atlantic in Florida. My fondest beach memories are those of the windswept, deserted beaches in Southwest Michigan. Maybe not quite as exotic as a tropical locale, but full of treasures- crinoid fossils, pretty Petoskey stones, beautiful beach glass, and gorgeous pieces of driftwood. And to celebrate those memories, I decided to make a driftwood wreath for our front door this summer.
