40+ Upcycling Ideas for Sports Stuff

40+ Upcycling Ideas for Sports Stuff

Sports “stuff” is something I find frequently at thrift stores and yard sales. From golf clubs, to skis, to tennis rackets, to bowling balls, I’ve just about seen it all while secondhand shopping. The good news, though, is that there are a TON of upcycling ideas for used sporting goods, so they won’t go to waste.

Over the years, I’ve upcycled sports gear in various ways. For whatever reason, I’m particularly drawn to vintage tennis rackets, especially the wooden kind.

I’ve created Christmas cross stitch on the racket heads

And for the vintage tennis racket handles that were leftover from my cross stitch project?

Boho jewelry or wooden pendants , and no, I’m not kidding. These came from vintage rackets. Aren’t they wild?

Who knew they looked like this inside…

Thankfully, there are tons of fantastic repurposed projects and upcycling ideas out there for sports stuff. From rackets to clubs to balls to footwear, a project is just waiting to happen.
