Spring Porch Décor in a Harvest Basket

Spring Porch Décor in a Harvest Basket

For this month’s Thrift Store Décor Team project, I decided to make something for our front porch. Spring is settling in nicely around here, and I wanted to celebrate that with a fun and easy project that would bring fresh color to the porch. I found a harvest basket (the kind that are typically filled with peaches during our South Carolina summers) at a thrift store and decided that I’d use it as a base for my porch décor this Spring.Read more ›

Upcycled Easter Basket Wreath

Upcycled Easter Basket Wreath

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, then you are all-too-familiar with my Junkin’ Journey series- where I travel to towns across the South in search of wonderful treasures and shops to explore. On my most recent adventure to Durham, North Carolina, I found this flat-backed basket at a quaint little thrift shop. And right away, I envisioned it as a colorful Easter Basket Wreath.Read more ›

Sweet & Simple Easter Décor in Vintage Hobnail Milk Glass

Sweet & Simple Easter Décor in Vintage Hobnail Milk Glass

Vintage hobnail milk glass is one of those things that you can actually find in thrift stores from time to time. Some people collect it, but plenty do not…and while I don’t snap up every piece I see, I couldn’t help myself with this oblong dish that I recently found.Read more ›

Candle Holder Bird Nest Decor

Candle Holder Bird Nest Decor

I don’t know about you, but Spring is front and center in my mind. The trees are budding, the daffodils are in full bloom, and even my husband’s allergies have kicked in for the season. So, I’m kicking off March with a fun and SUPER simple spring project idea. A few months ago, I snagged this metal candle holder from Goodwill and knew immediately that I would repurpose it into sweet bird nest décor for Spring.Read more ›

Oval Frame “Easter Eggs”

Oval Frame “Easter Eggs”

I can’t quite explain why I love vintage oval picture frames so much…but I just DO! And when I see them in thrift shops, I snap them up, no questions asked. While brainstorming for new project ideas (by tidying up my Craft Room), I realized something:

Oval picture frames look a little like Easter eggs…Read more ›

Thrifted T-shirt Produce Bags

Thrifted T-shirt Produce Bags

When the weather is still cool and Spring is right around the corner, I allow myself to daydream (just a little) about summer. I don’t dwell on the humidity or the bad hair/makeup…and focus on Saturday mornings, when the farmer’s markets roll into town. This post contains affiliate links for your crafting convenience.

Like so many other eco/cost-conscious shoppers, I love to bring my own tote bag(s) to carry my bounty home. AND, I have the most amazing reusable fruit/vegetable produce bags…just not enough of them to carry everything I purchase from the farmer’s markets.Read more ›

Spring Doily Table Runner

Spring Doily Table Runner

Creating a table runner made from pieced together crocheted and lace doilies has been on my to-do list for as long as I can remember. I always assumed I’d create one in whites and neutrals, as most doilies come in varying shades of cream.

And then I started buying the occasional colorful doily- pinks, blues, yellows, greens… I actually bought them simply because they were pretty! I never intended on using them for a runner.

But as the cold, rainy days of winter dragged on, I craved some color and anything that says “Spring”…so the concept of a colorful, mismatched doily table runner was born! This post contains affiliate links for your crafting convenience.Read more ›
