Being a fan of vintage doilies means I am always looking for new ways to repurpose and display them. Wall decor is a great way to give them new life and falls right in line with the granny chic decor that is super popular right now. Irish folklore says that the doors in Dublin homes were painted in bright colors so that drunk Irishmen could find their own home after a night of many pints. Apparently there had been a slew of “stranger in my bed” incidents, which led to the pretty painted doors.
