Christmas Tree Baskets Upcycled Two Different Ways

Christmas Tree Baskets Upcycled Two Different Ways

Earlier this year, long before I was even THINKING about holiday projects, I found this set of nesting Christmas tree baskets. As I mulled over different makeover ideas, I realized they could be used as Christmas table decor in December, but continue on into the New Year as winter wonderland decorations.Read more ›

Upcycled Chamberstick Christmas Candy Dishes

Upcycled Chamberstick Christmas Candy Dishes

Truth be told, I didn’t know the word “chamberstick” before this project and blog post came about. You see, I stumbled up one…and then another chamberstick in the span of a single weekend- at two different thrift stores. I purchased them both thinking that I would figure out a project for these “old time-y candlesticks with handles” (which is what I Googled). And once I had the word “chamberstick” locked down, a project came to mind!Read more ›

30+ Upcycled and Repurposed Ornaments

30+ Upcycled and Repurposed Ornaments

As a December 26th baby, I feel a special connection to Christmas- even if a birthday at this time of year is pretty underwhelming. Coupled with my love of repurposing and upcycling, it should come as no surprise to anyone that combining the two- Repurpose/Christmas- is something I look forward to each year. And while I haven’t done that many of them, repurposed ornaments are an exceptional favorite.Read more ›

Vintage Snowshoe Christmas Door Decoration

Vintage Snowshoe Christmas Door Decoration

It’s hard to believe, but it was way back in March of this year when I spotted an old time-y vintage snowshoe on the wall of a local shop. Even though I was in full Spring mode at the time, I snapped it up with a Christmas holiday idea in mind…the trick would be remembering where I stashed it for the rest of the year!Read more ›

A Thankful Round-Up: Holiday Projects & Recipes from My Favorite Bloggers

A Thankful Round-Up: Holiday Projects & Recipes from My Favorite Bloggers

Now that I’ve gotten in the habit of creating a month- or seasonally-themed round-up post (Back-to-School projects in September…Halloween projects in October…etc.), I needed to create an appropriate post for November. Autumn or holiday projects were an obvious choice, but I’ve decided to focus on the theme of “Thankful” instead of Fall.

I’m always singing the praises of my wonderfully supportive husband, Jon, because he is my blog’s biggest supporter. No one in my life knows just how much I put into this as he does…but my fellow bloggers also understand. They know…they know just how difficult and time-consuming it can be, yet we love it and continue on, even when the path is rocky. And so many bloggers have been tremendously supportive of me- by featuring Sadie projects, or sending me sweet notes, or even answering silly questions I’ve had along the way.

So this is my bloggy thank-you note to them: Autumn/Holiday/Christmas projects and recipes from my network of online friends, fellow bloggers that put their hard work out there, day after day. Blood, sweat, tears…sawdust and sprinkles. Thank you for all that you do…Read more ›

Vintage Mason Jar Waterless Snowglobes

Vintage Mason Jar Waterless Snowglobes

Two, maybe three years ago, I made a series of waterless snowglobes. A trendy retailer had advertised their version for an uppity price, prompting me to try and recreate them myself.

And let me tell you, an obsession was born! I, of course, came armed with vintage supplies- old jars, vintage bottle brush trees, and couple of mid-century figurines. The results? 100% charming.Read more ›

Vintage-Style Luggage Ornaments with Altoids Tins

Vintage-Style Luggage Ornaments with Altoids Tins

Vintage luggage covered in international travel stickers is about iconic as it gets for me- at least in my dreamy, old-movie imagination.

And in the spirit of Christmas-ornament-making during this time of year, I decided to create my own vintage suitcases that could be hung on my tree.Read more ›

Embroidery Hoop Gift Card Pocket

Embroidery Hoop Gift Card Pocket

This is one of those projects that I saw in a shop and immediately knew I could recreate, but with my own vintage twist. I had all of the materials (and then some) and since we end up buying gift cards as Christmas presents for some family members, I DEFINITELY wanted to “cute-ify” the packaging. This post contains affiliate links for your crafting convenience.Read more ›
