For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a TERRIBLE habit of losing my gardening gloves. After some yard work, I’d come into the garage, rip off my gloves, and fling them wherever I could before going inside. It has led to countless trips to the hardware store to buy new gloves – wasteful in money, time, and well…gloves! So, it seemed high time that I create a DIY clipboard or a garage wall organizer that would be specifically dedicated to work gloves!

Floral Shower Curtain from Vintage Sheets

Our guest bathroom is a cute little room, but without a window, is only illuminated by artificial light. As a result- and I’m not sure why I never noticed this before- our existing shower curtain was doing nothing to brighten the room. But instead of running out to the store for a new one, I decided to upcycle one of my vintage sheets into a floral shower curtain.Read more ›
30+ DIY Ideas for an Upcycled Bird Bath and an Upcycled Bird Feeder

Ever since we moved into our house, I’ve been mildly obsessed with making our yard as bird-friendly as possible. I love having a yard full of chirping birds and I geek out when a new species is spotted. So, it’s no surprise that I love any and all bird craft ideas for an upcycled bird feeder or an upcycled bird bath.

Cat Toy Storage in a Vintage Wooden Crate

Even though we don’t have kids, Jon and I realized we really needed to focus on toy storage. Specifically, though, cat toy storage. Because our boys are VERY spoiled and have a ridiculous number of kitty toys that get strewn around on a regular basis.Read more ›
DIY Corner Bookmarks from Embroidered Linens

Any time I’m in a secondhand shop, I always peruse the linens section. Every now and then, I’ll happen across some embroidered linens such as vintage tablecloths or vintage napkins. I just have SUCH a weakness for those beautifully hand-embroidered pieces.Read more ›
Mosquito Candles in Vintage Planters

Let’s face it, summer is NOT my favorite season in the South. Between a constant case of “humidity hair” to a melted make-up sweaty glow, it just leaves much to be desired. But, I still love sitting out back and listening to the summer yard sounds as the sun goes down. So, I desperately needed to make some mosquito candles that would keep the bugs away.
Reusable Bowl Covers from Bandanas

If you are looking for ways to reduce waste (like me), then this idea might be for you! I love using my antique stoneware bowls, but because they don’t have lids, I end up using foil or plastic wrap to cover them. So, I decided to make some reusable bowl covers for a recent Independence Day party.

How to Make a Half Apron from a Vintage Pillowcase

Vintage aprons are so pretty and I know a lot of folks that collect them. However, I rarely cook while wearing something that is worthy of protecting. But I had an idea for a more utilitarian apron, like a half apron that servers at restaurants wear. And it would use a couple of typical things I’d find at a thrift store: a vintage pillowcase and a ribbon belt.
DIY Suncatchers from Vintage Scarves

Back when I made my Aromatherapy Eye Pillows from vintage scarves, I had mentioned that my good friend, Kate DiNatale Vintage, had given me a bag of vintage scarves that she couldn’t sell. As I pawed through them, I noticed that some of them reminded me of faux stained glass. So, I decided to upcycle them into DIY suncatchers for windows that I hoped would stop birds from flying into our windows.Read more ›
DIY Pin Cushion in a Vintage Teapot

With my burgeoning love of sewing comes a need for storage for sewing supplies. And one of the things I wanted to have was a cute, functional pin cushion that had one additional feature- secrecy. That may sound crazy, but with a cat as curious as Cottonball, a secret pincushion is not all that far-fetched. And I decided that a vintage teapot would be the perfect thing to upcycle into a DIY pin cushion that could hide in plain sight.Read more ›
