Summer Wreaths to Make This Season

Summer Wreaths to Make This Season

Now that summer is officially here, it’s probably time to change out your front door wreath. And if you’ve been craving something different for the warm and sunny season, maybe one of these summer wreaths will catch your eye. From bright colors to patriotic colors, summertime sports and coastal themes, there’s bound to be an upcycled or DIY wreath here for you.

Croquet Mallets

I’m not sure why this croquet mallet wreath says summer to me, but it really truly does. Maybe it’s the sunburst pattern it showcases. Or maybe it’s the image of playing croquet (poorly) on a warm summer day. But either way, what a great way to repurpose mallet heads from an old croquet set!

Summer Wreaths from Tropical Drinks

What says summer more than a tropical drink that comes with a little umbrella? And you can get that festive feeling without the alcohol by turning those little parasols into a bright and cheery summer wreath, perfect for your front door.

Hanging Sun Hat

Heading out to the garden wearing a wide-brim sun hat is quintessential summer. And you can capture that image perfectly by upcycling a straw hat into a summer door hanger like this.

Summer Wreaths from the Beach

Beach treasures- seashells, beach glass, etc.- are some of the best free craft supplies out there. Using them to create a breezy wreath like this is a fabulous way to get that beachy feeling on your front door.

Lemon Wreath

Lemon wreaths are always on trend for summer and this one is a perfect example of that. It’s so fresh and full…and it makes me want one of those special lemonades you can get at the State Fair each summer!

Patriotic Necktie Wreath

Whether you have a closet full of unworn ties or pick up a few at the thrift store, they are a great source of crafty inspiration. Take this patriotic wreath, for example. Isn’t this a great way to repurpose them AND celebrate all the patriotic summer holidays in one festive wreath?

Garden Hoses

A cold drink of water from the hose on a hot summer day is a childhood memory that is cemented in my mind. Today’s kids might not get it, but you and I sure do. And look how cute a bunch of old garden hoses look as a summer wreath. What a great way to repurpose them when they’ve worn out and retired from yard duty.

Play Ball!

Since baseball is, in fact, a summer sport, it makes sense to make a themed wreath to celebrate it. What a great way to repurpose old baseballs because they look great as a summer door hanger, don’t they?

Summer Wreaths with Sunflowers

Bike wheels are perfect for upcycling into wreaths. But with the addition of sunflowers, bike wheels are perfect for upcycling into summer wreaths. This one is so bright and cheerful – it’ll put a smile on your face every time you come home.

Straw Tote Bag

I love repurposing straw tote bags in any number of ways, so why not turn one into a summer wreath? With bright faux flowers and a couple of gardening touches, it’s the perfect door hanger all summer long.

Driftwood Wreath

Find a bunch of pieces of driftwood on your summer vacation? They can be bundled together as an interesting beachy element for your bookshelf or mantel. Or if you want to craft with them, a starburst wreath for your front door makes quite the statement.

Ring of Flowers

You can never go wrong with celebrating summertime with bright bursts of blooms. And a ring of those luscious flowers is the perfect door hanger, if you ask me. You can also keep it thrifty by repurposing a wreath form from the thrift store and maybe some faux flower picks from the thrift, too.

Summer Wreaths with Terracotta

Terracotta is such a great color for summer, making it a warm and unique idea to incorporate into your summer wreaths. And like this one, you can keep it simple with some terracotta ornaments and a touch of fresh greenery. Simple, easy, and so, so summery.

Patriotic Clothespins

There are so many ways to craft with clothespins, both the peg and clip versions. And you can often find bags of them at thrift stores or creative reuse centers on the cheap. Why not turn some of them into this festive clothespin wreath with patriotic flair?

Dried Peonies

My mother used to grow fabulous peonies each summer, with blooms as large as my head. So, they’re definitely one of my favorite summer flowers- making this dried peony wreath an absolute favorite of mine in this collection.

Beach Ball Decor

How cute is this idea for a thrifted Bundt pan? Painted like a beach ball, it’s a playful addition to your beachy, summer mantel or hanging on a door. It’s just so cute and summery- and now I want to go thrifting to find my own Bundt pan to upcycle!

Nautical Flair

Ticking fabric has such a nautical feel to it, doesn’t it? Which makes it the perfect thing to use when creating a nautical-coastal themed wreath for summer. All you need is a few extra embellishments, like rope and sea shells, to complete the look.
